Welcome to the new version of Dreams of East Asia. This sauce was retired for over a year to revamp the recipe. The new recipe features locally grown shiitake mushrooms (shout out to Sole Connection farms in southern Vermont) and Vermont grown red jalapenos. This version of the sauce is much thicker, but has that same umami flavor you came to love. There is a depth of flavor here that will allow you to get very creative with what to pair it with.
Like many other sauces that have come before this from us, this sauce has direct inspirations from the VPP family. My father has an affinity involving Chinese food, and this sauce is to serve as a way to pay homage to his love of it!
